Melanie & Charles – Au Vieux Moulin Wedding

Today’s wedding was sent to us by the awesome Emilie Olson who photographed Melanie & Charles’ day perfectly.

The wedding took place at Rigaud’s Au Vieux Moulin Wedding just outside of Montreal and it’s a stunning location to celebrate with friends and family.

We asked Melanie to share some thoughts about this elegant wedding…

Wedding Date: September 26th, 2015

The Vision for the Day: I wanted a fuss free wedding, very intimate, cozy and personal. I dont like clutter and wanted my wedding to have an “airy” feel… My vision was soft and romantic.

The Planning Process: This one was tough because I was planning about 10 other weddings at the same time. I’m a part time wedding planner and let’s just say it’s a good thing I’m organized and started early. I also had amazing vendors and knew I had nothing to worry about!

The Venue: Au Vieux Moulin – A private country estate with a beautiful waterfront setting.

Finding the Dress: I had six bridesmaids so I knew this would be extremely hard with all their styles and opinions. I decided to bring my sister and my mother and I said “yes to the dress” to a Christianne Brunelle couture lace gown.

The Details + Decor: It’s hard not to go overboard with details and decor, but at a certain point you also dont want it looking like a Pinterest board! I opted for minimal (or my version of minimal) yet impactful elements. With the help of Joy from Imaginejoy, she really helped tie personal elements with her beautiful calligraphy details.

The Honeymoon: Aruba – Occidental Grand Royal Club

Most Memorable Moments: There are so many memorably moments but one that stands it out more than the others was having both my dad and grandfather walk me down the aisle.

What happened that wasn’t planned: Nothing off schedule! I had my trusty business partner handle all the coordinating of the day!

Advice for Other Couples: Start early because there are SO many things to think of!”
