Elm Ridge Country Club Wedding: Simple Elegance and Meaningful Moments

There’s something deeply personal about a wedding that strips away the unnecessary and focuses on what really matters. For Sahar & Reza, who met as international students far from home, their celebration at Elm Ridge Country Club was all about meaningful simplicity, and the results are absolutely stunning.
After exploring several venues across the region, they landed on Elmridge for its beautiful outdoor ceremony space and the kind of reasonable pricing that lets you actually enjoy planning your wedding instead of stressing over every dollar. Smart choice, if you ask us.
What strikes us most about this wedding is the bride’s intentional approach to every detail. From her elegant Milla Nova gown with delicate 3D floral sleeves to the fifty cylinder vases filled with floating candles around the venue’s fireplace, each element was chosen thoughtfully rather than following trends. The colour palette stayed classic: ivory, white, and candlelight, creating that timeless elegance that never goes out of style.
And can we talk about that powerful moment when she chose to walk herself down the aisle? In her own words, it was about honouring her journey of learning to trust herself and stay strong. It wasn’t lonely, it felt just right.
The couple worked with some talented local vendors to bring their vision to life, including Chora Design Floral, who exceeded expectations, and videographer Jessy from Toshimi Muniz, whose unique approach to wedding films caught the bride’s attention for creating something distinct for each couple rather than the cookie-cutter videos we often see.
Whether you’re planning a grand celebration or an intimate gathering, there’s plenty of inspiration here for couples who value authenticity over extravagance.
Huge thanks to Jeff and the team at De Belle Photography for capturing this beautiful day and sharing these gorgeous images with us.

Where did you get married, and why did you choose that venue?
We got married at Elm Ridge Country Club. After visiting several venues, we finally chose Elm Ridge for its reasonable pricing and beautiful outdoor space, perfect for both the ceremony and cocktail hour.
How did your story begin?
We met at university as international students, far from our families. Two years later, during a summer trip to Niagara Falls, he proposed, and our wedding planning began. It was an exciting time filled with love and anticipation for our future together.

Tell us about your dress
I chose Adelaide from Milla Nova. Adelaide had everything I wished for my wedding dress—a simple and elegant design. I tried on many dresses but chose mine for its beautiful ivory colour, simplicity, and the 3D flowers around the arms. I recommend this dress for brides with broad, elegant shoulders.
Who was your photographer?
The photographer was Jeff from De Belle Photography. Choosing a photographer was the most challenging part of wedding planning, as I didn’t want to settle for someone hoping for good results. I waited until I saw De Belle’s Instagram, and luckily, they were available for my date. I knew I’d love the photos. Their style is modern yet traditional, exactly how I wanted to capture the day. Jeff made it even better—he was kind, patient, and supportive throughout the day.

Did you have a videographer?
Our videographer was Jessy, who works with Toshimi Muniz. She’s a young, talented videographer, and what stood out to me is how wedding videos often follow the same pattern, almost identical to each other. Jessy’s videos, however, are unique to each couple. I’m so happy I chose her to capture our day.
Who styled your hair and makeup?
The look I went for was simple, timeless, and elegant. My hair stylist was Marie-France and my makeup artist was YaldaBeauty.
What did the groom wear?
We chose a tux from Armani. The tux was classic, simple, and elegant.

Tell us about your flowers
My florist was Chora Design Floral. The prices were very reasonable, and the florist was professional, kind, and supportive. The result exceeded my expectations.
What was your wedding cake like?
I chose a white, two-layered, and again simple cake to go with other choices I made.
What did you do for entertainment?
We had a DJ to perform at our wedding. For entertainment, we prepared some accessories for the guests to spend some time taking pictures with them.

How did you style your venue?
The venue had a beautiful fireplace, which we decorated with about 50 cylinder vases holding floating candles. Candles are an affordable yet elegant choice for decoration. Each guest table had a centrepiece along with candles, and our head table featured small vases with white flowers and candles. The arch had three arrangements, two of which we relocated inside for the reception.
Who walked you down the aisle?
I chose myself to walk me down the aisle. Over time, I’ve learned to trust myself, to stay strong when things were hard, and to be proud of who I am. This moment was about honouring that journey. Walking alone didn’t feel lonely. It felt just right.
What was your first dance song?
Our first dance song was You Raise Me Up by Josh Groban. We chose it because it reflects how we’ve always been there for each other, especially during the hard times. The song feels like a quiet promise—that no matter what happens, we’ll help each other rise. During the dance, it felt like it was just the two of us in the room. It was simple, emotional, and full of love. Just the way we wanted it to be.

What was your favourite moment of the day?
My favourite moment of the day was before we arrived at the venue, when the two of us spent some quiet time together taking photos, without any worries or distractions.
Any advice for couples planning their wedding?
My advice for brides is to remember that this is your day, and your happiness matters most. Don’t stress about pleasing everyone, especially when it comes to choosing your bridesmaids. Pick the people who truly support you and who you’ll be happy to see in your wedding photos for the rest of your life. Surround yourself with love, not pressure.

Thanks so much to Sahar & Reza for sharing such a stylish, beautiful wedding with us. Congrats to them both.
